Grand Hotel Kurhaus, Arolla (VS) - Winter Video Trailer
Winter 2019 promotional video for the Grand Hotel Kurhaus.
A proud member of Swiss Historic Hotels, the Grand Hôtel & Kurhaus overlooks the village of Arolla (in the municipality of Evolène, between Zermatt and Verbier) at an altitude of 2,100 meters, nestled in a stunning Swiss stone pine forest (home to a variety of wildlife)—the region’s signature trees—and surrounded by glaciers.
The building was constructed in 1896 by Mrs. Honorine Gaspoz, at a time when the first mountaineers were venturing onto the nearby peaks, some of which rise above 4,000 meters. Built using local materials—Swiss stone pine and granite—Mrs. Gaspoz brought her guests from Sion by horse-drawn carriage, and they completed the ascent on donkeys accompanied by guides.
